New gas conditioning method may ease pain after laparoscopic surgery

Summary
This study tested four different ways of conditioning the carbon dioxide gas used during laparoscopic womb surgery. The goal was to see if warming, wetting, or adding a numbing medicine to the gas could prevent a drop in body temperature and reduce pain after surgery. 248 women took part, and the results will help improve comfort during and after the procedure.
