New brain implant delivers radiation at surgery to fight deadly tumor

NCT ID NCT05342883

Summary

This study is testing if adding a new radiation implant called GammaTile during brain surgery can help control glioblastoma, a fast-growing and aggressive brain cancer. The implant, placed right after tumor removal, delivers radiation immediately and is combined with the standard follow-up treatments of radiation and chemotherapy. The main goals are to see if this combined approach is safe, tolerable, and doesn't delay the standard treatment schedule.
