Brain zapping combo shows promise for memory boost

NCT ID NCT06680154

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to stimulate the brain using two techniques—magnetic pulses and mild electrical currents—to boost gamma brain waves, which are linked to memory and often weak in Alzheimer's disease. Thirty healthy adults aged 18–60 completed memory tasks while their brain activity was measured with EEG. The goal was to see if this combined stimulation could improve working memory and brain wave patterns, paving the way for future Alzheimer's treatments.
