Gamified training takes on traditional lectures in hip surgery setup showdown
NCT ID NCT07194148
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a custom digital game can help nursing students learn how to arrange surgical instruments for total hip replacement better than a standard classroom lecture. Sixty participants will be randomly assigned to either play the game or attend a lecture, and their accuracy in setting up the instrument table will be compared. The goal is to see if gamification improves learning and satisfaction.

- Active substance
- Gamified Digital Education (ORNurse: Steril Setup 1.0)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that gamified digital training is more effective than traditional lectures for teaching surgical setup skills, potentially improving nurse education.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage educational trial with only 60 participants. Results may not apply broadly, and the game might not outperform standard teaching methods.
