Timing is everything: when to remove the gallbladder after pancreatitis attack

NCT ID NCT07234136

Summary

This study looked at whether it's better to remove the gallbladder immediately during the same hospital stay or to wait several weeks after a mild gallstone pancreatitis attack. Researchers followed 445 patients to see which timing leads to fewer repeat gallstone problems and complications. The goal was to find the safest approach that prevents future attacks without making surgery more difficult.
