New gallbladder procedure could replace surgery for some patients

NCT ID NCT04197908

Summary

This study tested whether a less invasive procedure could be used instead of surgery to treat acute gallbladder inflammation. Researchers performed gallbladder drainage using an endoscope (a flexible tube with a camera) on 30 patients who would normally have surgery. The goal was to see if this approach was safe and effective for resolving the infection and symptoms.
