Sideways steps to stop falls? new training aims to steady seniors
NCT ID NCT07463924
Summary
This study tested whether practicing walking in different directions—like sideways and backward—could help improve balance, reduce fear of falling, and strengthen leg performance in older adults. Researchers worked with 41 volunteers aged 65 and older who did not have serious health conditions affecting balance. The goal was to see if this specific type of walking training could make daily activities safer and help prevent dangerous falls.
