First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether imagining walking can change muscle activity and body movement in people who recently had a stroke. Forty stroke survivors with mild walking difficulties took part. They were asked to imagine walking normally and walking on a line, while their muscles and movements were measured. The goal was to understand how mental practice might help recovery.
