Laser light could boost gum disease treatment

NCT ID NCT06656325

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special laser (FX-405) to standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) helps treat gum disease better than cleaning alone. About 70 adults with moderate-to-severe gum disease will receive the laser treatment alongside cleaning. The main goal is to see if the laser helps reduce gum damage (measured by attachment loss) over 8 months.
