Table tennis teens get faster and stronger with functional training

NCT ID NCT07384806

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether adding functional training—exercises that mimic real movements—to regular practice helps teen table tennis players improve speed, balance, and overall fitness. Thirty players aged 12-18 were split into three groups: one did functional training, one did standard training, and one just practiced normally. After eight weeks, researchers measured changes in flexibility, agility, speed, jumping, and balance to see which group improved most.
