Study reveals hidden toll of common infections on Seniors' independence
NCT ID NCT07388173
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how serious respiratory infections (like flu, COVID-19, and RSV) affect the ability of adults aged 60 and older to live independently. Researchers will follow 1,600 hospitalized seniors across multiple countries to track changes in daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and managing medications. The goal is to better understand which infections cause the most functional decline and to help design better prevention and vaccination programs.
