New sleep drug trial offers hope for people who Can't stay awake

Summary
This study is testing whether a once-nightly medication called FT218 can help control excessive daytime sleepiness in people with idiopathic hypersomnia. About 150 participants will take either the medication or a placebo for approximately 18 weeks to see if it improves their ability to stay awake and function during the day. The research focuses on managing symptoms of this chronic sleep disorder rather than curing it.
