Scientists develop new gauge for facial weakness in muscle disease

NCT ID NCT06425445

Summary

This study tested a new tool designed to measure the strength and function of facial and mouth muscles in people with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Researchers worked with 22 participants who have a genetic diagnosis of FSHD to see if their new assessment method was reliable. The goal was to create a better way for doctors to track how the disease affects these specific muscles over time.
