New pill targets Hard-to-Treat cancers in early human trial
NCT ID NCT07593144
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial tests an experimental oral drug called FS-207 in 156 adults with advanced solid tumors that have a specific DNA repair flaw (MSI-H). The drug works by blocking a protein (WRN) that these cancer cells need to survive. The study aims to find a safe dose and check for early signs that the drug shrinks tumors.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
FS-207 (an oral drug that targets the WRN protein)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new oral treatment option for people with MSI-H advanced solid tumors who have run out of standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 1 trial, so the drug may not be safe or effective. Only a small number of patients will be tested, and results may not apply to everyone.
