Frozen shoulder study: does physical therapy add value?

NCT ID NCT02283996

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at two standard treatments for frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) in adults 18 and older. One group gets physical therapy plus steroid injections, the other gets injections followed by watchful waiting. Researchers want to see if physical therapy improves outcomes enough to justify its extra cost. The goal is to find the most effective and affordable approach.
