Could a 8-Item quiz speed up autism diagnosis in adults?
NCT ID NCT06549179
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple, 8-item screening tool called the AMSE can help non-expert doctors accurately identify autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adults. Currently, people often wait 19 months for a diagnosis at specialized centers, and many are found not to have ASD. The study will enroll 410 adults seeking an ASD diagnosis and compare the AMSE results with a full expert evaluation to measure the tool's accuracy.
