Can a frailty test predict who benefits from a common heart procedure?
NCT ID NCT05257954
Summary
This study aims to understand how common and severe frailty is in patients undergoing a procedure to close a small pouch in the heart (left atrial appendage closure or LAAC). Researchers will follow 500 patients to see if being frail is linked to worse outcomes after the procedure, like death, stroke, or quality of life. The goal is to learn if checking for frailty can help doctors better identify which patients are most likely to benefit from this preventive procedure.
