Can a simple frailty test predict survival in elderly pneumonia patients?
NCT ID NCT07442656
Summary
This study aims to see if measuring frailty (overall physical weakness and vulnerability) in older adults arriving at the emergency room with pneumonia can better predict who might die in the hospital or within 30 days. Researchers will observe 150 patients aged 65 and older to check if adding a quick frailty assessment to standard pneumonia tests improves the accuracy of predicting serious outcomes.
