First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at the link between gut bacteria and frailty in 14 older adults (65+) who were frail or pre-frail. Participants joined a 12-month healthy aging education program. Researchers collected stool samples to analyze gut bacteria and measured frailty, physical function, mood, and sleep. The goal was to understand how gut health relates to aging and whether education can improve it.
