Tracking frailty after surgery: new clues to predicting survival in seniors

NCT ID NCT07322809

Summary

This study aimed to understand how physical frailty changes in the months after surgery for older adults and whether these changes are linked to the risk of dying within a year. Researchers followed over 4,400 patients aged 65 and older who had elective surgery, measuring their frailty before and after the procedure. The goal was to identify patterns of recovery or decline to better predict and potentially improve long-term outcomes.
