New study tests safer eye surgery for diabetics to save vision

Summary

This study compares two ways of peeling a thin layer inside the eye during surgery for diabetic patients with severe eye disease. The goal is to see which method better protects vision and eye structure after surgery. About 48 adults with diabetes and certain eye problems will take part and be followed for 6 months.
