New program aims to break the cycle of mental illness and jail time

Summary
This study tests a program called Forging New Paths for adults with serious mental illness who have been involved with the criminal justice system. About 72 participants will either receive the program plus usual care or usual care alone. Researchers will measure changes in aggression, criminal attitudes, and how long people can stay in the community without being hospitalized or convicted of a new crime.
