Experimental drug aims to halt 'Second Skeleton' disease

NCT ID NCT05394116

Summary

This Phase 3 trial is testing an experimental drug called garetosmab in adults with fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), a rare disease that causes soft tissues to turn into bone. The main goals are to see if the drug is safe and if it can reduce the number of new abnormal bone growths (lesions) and painful flare-ups. The study is comparing the drug against a placebo in 63 participants over 84 weeks.
