Salmon vs. seeds vs. pills: the battle to lower dangerous blood fats

NCT ID NCT07004777

Summary

This study aims to see if eating specific foods like salmon, chia seeds, and pumpkin seeds is as effective as taking omega-3 supplements for lowering high triglyceride levels, a common and risky blood fat disorder. It will involve 375 adults with high triglycerides who will first try a standard diet, and then some will be randomly assigned to add either supplements, salmon, or seeds to their meals for four weeks. The main goal is to find which option people stick to best and which lowers triglycerides most effectively.
