Scientists probe why we crave food

NCT ID NCT05200845

Summary

This small, completed study aimed to understand how the body's ability to process nutrients (metabolic flexibility) might be connected to food cravings and preferences in people with different body weights. Researchers tested 20 adults with a range of body mass indexes (BMI) by having them drink flavored beverages and measuring their brain activity, blood sugar, and food choices. The goal was to see if these research methods could detect differences in how people learn to associate flavors with calories.
