Doctors prescribe groceries: new program fights hunger to prevent disease
NCT ID NCT06661538
Summary
This study is testing a program that connects families struggling to afford healthy food with community support through their child's doctor's office. It aims to see if this approach is practical and acceptable, and if it can improve food security and health measures like weight and blood pressure over a year. The program involves screening, referrals, and follow-up for 600 families with children who have certain health conditions and receive government assistance.
