Big meal vs. empty stomach: scientists test drug absorption
NCT ID NCT06433661
Summary
This study tested how eating a high-fat meal affects the way a new drug called etavopivat gets into the bloodstream. Sixteen healthy adults took a single dose of the drug twice—once after a big meal and once on an empty stomach—to compare the results. The goal was to gather basic information to help plan future studies in people with sickle cell disease or thalassemia.
