Simple cabinet could shield Kids' food from germs, fight diarrhea

NCT ID NCT07332078

Summary

This study tested whether a low-cost, mesh-covered food storage cabinet (called a 'meatsafe') could keep children's food cleaner and reduce diarrhea. Researchers gave the cabinets and food safety tips to some families in low-income neighborhoods of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and compared them to families who continued their usual practices. They checked for germs in stored food and tracked cases of diarrhea in children aged 6 to 24 months to see if the simple cabinet made a difference.
