Can groceries be medicine? study tests food prescriptions for families in need
NCT ID NCT06784310
Summary
This study tested whether providing healthy food resources to entire families could improve their health. It enrolled 56 low-income families in Kentucky where an adult had high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes and a child had a high weight. Families received medically tailored meals, grocery vouchers, or both to see if better nutrition could improve blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and family stress.
