Common vitamin B9 pill tested as lifesaver for sudden kidney failure

NCT ID NCT07377071

Summary

This study aims to see if taking a daily folic acid (vitamin B9) pill for 90 days can help adults who develop sudden kidney failure from a serious infection. Researchers will compare the outcomes of about 382 patients who receive either standard hospital care plus folic acid or standard care alone. The main goal is to find out if folic acid lowers the chance of dying within one year and helps the kidneys recover faster.
