Strong chemo cocktail tested to shrink tough stomach tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT03279237

Summary

This was a small, early-phase study to see if a powerful combination of chemotherapy drugs (called FOLFIRINOX) followed by radiation and more chemo could be safely given before surgery for stomach and GE junction cancer. The goal was to shrink tumors and control the disease to improve the chance of a successful surgery. It involved 25 adults with cancer that had not spread to distant organs.
