First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for people with severe opioid addiction that hasn't improved with other treatments. It uses low intensity focused ultrasound to target brain areas linked to addiction. 34 adults aged 22-60 will be randomly assigned to receive the real ultrasound or a sham (fake) procedure to see if it is safe and reduces opioid use.
