Sound waves target brain to treat stubborn movement disorder

NCT ID NCT07168850

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive procedure using focused ultrasound can help adults with limb dystonia who haven't improved with medications or injections. Researchers will compare real treatment to a sham procedure in 34 participants to see if creating a tiny lesion in a specific brain area reduces symptoms safely. The goal is to offer a new treatment option for people whose arm or leg dystonia doesn't respond to standard treatments.
