Mind over movement: new study tests attention tricks for stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07460804

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether paying attention to an outside target (external focus) or to your own body movements (internal focus) helps people who had a stroke stand up from a chair more evenly. Twenty adults who had a stroke at least six months ago will try both approaches. The goal is to see which focus leads to better use of the weaker leg and a straighter trunk.
