Foam rolling after sprints may ease muscle pain, study finds

NCT ID NCT07439523

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether adding foam rolling to a light jog after a 400-meter sprint helps clear lactate and reduce muscle soreness. Twenty male university sprinters were split into two groups: one did only a light jog, and the other did a light jog plus 10 minutes of foam rolling on their legs. Researchers measured blood lactate, heart rate, and muscle soreness right after and up to 24 hours later. The goal was to see if foam rolling improves recovery for athletes.
