First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This small pilot study tests whether a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) combined with a prebiotic nutritional drink can safely improve chronic constipation. Five adults with functional constipation will receive the treatment and be monitored for changes in bowel frequency, stool consistency, and straining. The study also looks at how the gut bacteria and metabolism change after treatment.
