Could poop pills boost cancer treatment? new study tests gut bacteria transplant

NCT ID NCT07292142

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT)—which transfers gut bacteria from a healthy donor—to standard pre-surgery chemotherapy and immunotherapy is safe and feasible for people with aggressive triple-negative breast cancer. Researchers want to see if changing the gut microbiome can help the body respond better to cancer treatment. The study will first observe patients on standard treatment, then test the FMT procedure in a second group.
