First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether transplanting gut bacteria from healthy donors (fecal microbiota transplantation) can prevent repeat episodes of acute cholangitis, a serious bile duct infection. About 44 adults who have had two or more infections in the past year will receive either the transplant or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce future infections, hospital stays, and antibiotic use.
