Doctors try poop transplant to save lungs of dying patients

NCT ID NCT06970262

Summary

This study is testing if transplanting healthy gut bacteria from a donor can help patients with severe lung failure (ARDS) who are on a ventilator. Researchers believe fixing the patient's gut bacteria might improve their lung health and help them survive. The main goal is to see if this treatment lowers the death rate within 28 days for these critically ill patients.
