First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of giving people real-time feedback on their brain activity using fMRI. 90 healthy adults will learn to control a brain region called the anterior insula, which is linked to emotions and body awareness. The goal is to see which feedback method works better and how it affects empathy and the ability to sense one's own heartbeat.
