Glow-in-the-Dark scanner could slash repeat breast cancer surgeries

Summary

This study tests a special scanner that uses fluorescence to help surgeons see if any cancer cells are left behind during breast-conserving surgery. About 172 women with breast cancer will take part. The goal is to see if this tool reduces the need for a second surgery by finding and removing leftover cancer right away.
