Fluid Therapy's hidden impact on tiny blood vessels in sepsis revealed
NCT ID NCT06067516
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 44 adults with septic shock in the intensive care unit to see how giving fluids changes blood flow in small vessels (measured by how fast nail beds refill with color after pressing) and overall organ function. Researchers tracked organ failure scores and heart performance before and after fluid treatment. The goal was to better understand if skin blood flow can guide fluid therapy to improve outcomes.
