Ultrasound showdown: which method best guides fluid resuscitation in septic shock?

NCT ID NCT07550400

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at 40 adults with septic shock to see which ultrasound method—heart or neck artery—better predicts whether fluids will help. Doctors often give fluids to raise blood pressure, but only half of patients respond. The goal is to find a more accurate way to decide who needs fluids, reducing unnecessary treatment and improving care.
