Doctors seek simple test to prevent dangerous fluid overload in young heart patients

Summary
This study aims to find a better way to tell which children need extra fluids after heart surgery. Researchers will check if a simple blood test can predict which kids will truly benefit from receiving more fluids, helping doctors avoid giving unnecessary fluids that could cause harm. The study will observe 110 children in intensive care after heart surgery to see how their bodies respond to standard fluid treatment.
