Finger clip could Fine-Tune fluids in heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07466082

Summary

This study tested if using a special finger-sensor (PVI) could help doctors manage fluids more precisely during a common blood-conservation technique in heart surgery. The goal was to see if this sensor-guided approach could reduce the need for donor blood transfusions and lower the risk of complications like kidney injury after surgery. The trial involved 80 patients undergoing planned heart surgery.
