Could a simple drink before surgery be riskier for diabetic moms?

NCT ID NCT07482098

Summary

This study aims to understand if drinking water before a planned C-section affects stomach fluid volume differently in pregnant women with diabetes compared to those without. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure stomach volume in 70 women after they drink water, following standard pre-surgery guidelines. The goal is to gather information that could help make fasting rules safer, especially for diabetic mothers who may have slower stomach emptying.
