New flu shot technology tested in older adults

Summary
This study tested a new seasonal flu vaccine made using a different manufacturing method (Vero cells) to see if it was as effective and safe as a standard egg-based flu shot. Over 3,200 adults aged 50 and older received either the new vaccine or the standard one, and their immune response and any side effects were tracked for six months. The main goal was to see if the new vaccine triggered a strong protective immune response against the flu.
