Can a stronger flu shot shield lung transplant patients better?

NCT ID NCT07192458

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a high-dose flu vaccine works better than the standard-dose vaccine for lung transplant recipients, who are at high risk for infections due to lifelong anti-rejection drugs. About 60 participants who were in a previous flu vaccine study will receive either high-dose or standard-dose flu shots over two consecutive flu seasons. The goal is to see if the high-dose vaccine boosts immunity and remains safe, without increasing rejection or side effects.
