Flu shot slashes death risk after elderly fractures

NCT ID NCT07231016

Summary

This large study looked at whether getting a flu shot helps protect older adults after they are hospitalized for a broken bone. Researchers analyzed health records of over 560,000 people aged 65+ in Taiwan who were hospitalized for fractures. They compared outcomes for those who had a recent flu vaccine to those who did not, to see if the vaccine was linked to fewer deaths or serious infections in the month after the fracture.
