First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study gave a specific H3N2 flu virus to 11 healthy adults aged 18-50 to learn how the immune system reacts during and after infection. Participants stayed in a clinic so researchers could closely monitor symptoms and virus spread. The goal was to confirm the virus dose needed to cause mild to moderate flu and to check safety. This was the first flu challenge study ever done in Australia.
